William Seithel, a senior human resources professional with more than 25 years of leadership experience in the field, joined DePaul as vice president for Human Resources (HR) in August of 2003.

Prior to coming to DePaul, Seithel spent 11 years as HR vice president for A.T. Kearney, Inc., a Chicago-based, multi-discipline consulting firm with 5,000 employees in 35 countries. Prior to that, he oversaw human resources and administrative operations in a variety of managerial positions during 16 years at the Chicago Stock Exchange. He began his HR career at Data Conversion Systems in Chicago, where he managed recruitment and employee relations.

Seithel has a broad range of experience in such areas as planning and forecasting; employee relations; benefits strategy and design; recruitment and selection; executive compensation; career development systems; organizational design, change and development; and performance management/appraisal. He has successfully implemented PeopleSoft systems on a global basis and has a tremendous track record as a hands-on manager working in culturally diverse environments.

He is the author of numerous articles published in professional journals and is a polished public speaker.

Seithel earned his master's degree in industrial/labor relations from Loyola University, and his bachelor's degree is in philosophy and psychology from St. Mary's College. He also is a Certified Compensation Professional and a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist.
