College of Commerce
Offering highly respected, practical, flexible programs of business study, DePaul's College of Commerce encompasses the university's undergraduate business program and the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, whose part-time MBA program was ranked ninth in the nation by U.S.News & World Report in its "America's Best Graduate Schools 2010" guidebook. The College of Commerce began offering classes in 1913. It was one of the first 10 business colleges in the United States, as well as the first business school in downtown Chicago and the first business school at an American Catholic university.
College of Communication
Established in 2007, the College of Communication is home to more than
1,400 students pursuing professional or traditional academic courses of
study in journalism; public relations and advertising; media studies;
radio, television and film; relational, group and organizational
communication; and culture and communication. Coursework in the
college's graduate and undergraduate degree programs is supplemented by
a range of comprehensive pre-employment training opportunities,
including Radio DePaul, The DePaulia, and a top-rated internship
program.
College of Computing and Digital Media
With more than 3,000 students enrolled in its undergraduate and graduate programs, the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) - formerly the School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems - is one of the largest colleges of its kind in the nation. The college has received numerous national honors in recent years, including being one of the inaugural six universities selected to participate in the Sony Pictures Imageworks IPAX program. The program develops future artists, designers, animators and engineers who will help the visual effects industry to grow. In addition, the college was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2005.
CDM is organized into two schools: the School of Cinema and Interactive Media and the School of Computing.
School of Cinema and Interactive Media
The School of Cinema and Interactive Media (CIM) features digital arts majors such as digital cinema, computer games development, animation and interactive media.
School of Computing
The School of Computing (SoC) incorporates traditional information technology majors such as computer science, security, information systems, networking and software engineering.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LA&S) is the oldest and largest college at DePaul,
with 431 full-time faculty in more than 36 undergraduate and 28 graduate degree programs. Courses are offered in the day, evenings and on weekends, primarily on the Lincoln Park Campus. The College of LA&S includes several key academic centers, including the Humanities Center, Center for Latino Research, Center for Black Diaspora and the Center for Community Research.
School of Public ServiceCollege of Law
The School of Public Service, the largest graduate program in LA&S, was established in 1970 and became its own school in the summer of 2007. Faculty members teach leaders of nonprofit and government organizations critical thinking and policy analysis as well as practical management skills valued in the public and nonprofit sectors.
DePaul University has received both institutional and specialized accreditation by numerous associations and organizations.
