As soon as you begin your undergraduate studies here, you'll discover the close relationship between DePaul and the city of Chicago. In fact, during Autumn Quarter as a first year student, you will enroll in either a Discover Chicago or Explore Chicago course that will introduce you to the many intellectual resources of the city. These classes emphasize DePaul's roles and mission in the city, and will provide you with opportunities to connect classroom learning with people, communities and institutions in metropolitan Chicago.
You will also learn that the connection between DePaul and Chicago will help you succeed in your chosen career path - whether it's helping you get a job while you're a student or after you graduate, or preparing you for graduate school. No matter what your major is, you'll be connected.
DePaul's Career Center will help you start forging your own career connections as soon as you enroll. In addition to advising and assessment, the Career Center provides mentoring, networking, internship and placement services - during your undergraduate years and after you graduate.
For example, many world-renowned businesses are headquartered in Chicago, including 28 of the largest Fortune 500 companies - firms like Allstate, Baxter Healthcare, Motorola, the Tribune Company and Walgreens, who each hire DePaul graduates.

You'll also notice the diversity of programs and concentrations offered by undergraduate Liberal Arts & Sciences programs- from pre-professional programs (pre-law, pre-medicine and pre-engineering, to name a few) to art and art history to international studies-is mirrored by the number of opportunities available with area employers. They range from governmental and international organizations to museums and art galleries to major pharmaceutical corporations and nationally respected consulting firms and agencies.
