The Economics Department is known for its strength in applied economic theory and for the diversity of topics included in the curriculum. Students explore unemployment, inflation, production, distribution, economic growth, consumer demand, market competition and international economic relations. They may choose from areas of study in business economics, environmental/resource economics, international trade, labor economics, pre-law, quantitative and urban economics. Students have access to the latest computer software in use in the field today, and they analyze economic decisions from different viewpoints in courses such as economics and the common good.
