The programs offered through the Department of Management develop managerial skills that enable graduates to work in all types of industries -- financial, consumer products, education, health care, public relations, utilities, retail, manufacturing and others.

The management curriculum offers three options: human resources management, operations management and entrepreneurship. They provide a broad foundation in skills important to managers -- such as accounting, computer information systems, economics, ethics, finance, law, marketing, speech and written communications.

Like all students in the College of Commerce, management students are taught by an expert faculty who have both academic and practical experience. Nearly all hold the highest degrees in their fields including the Ph.D., M.B.A. and J.D.

The Management department is involved with the Human Resource Management Association of Chicago, the American Society of Personnel Administrators, student Entrepreneurship groups and a variety of other associations that help students network with members of the business community.
