Do I qualify for any financial aid?
As an international student you can be considered for federal aid if you meet federally regulated citizenship requirements.
If your citizenship status is not on the list below, you are not eligible for federal aid. You may be eligible for an alternative loan. These loans are based on your income, your credit rating and your ability to repay the loan. Most alternative loan programs require that non-citizens obtain a co-signer who is a citizen or permanent resident.
You may be eligible for some scholarships. If you are an undergraduate student, contact the Office of Admission to determine your eligibility. If you are a graduate or law student, contact your department for more information about scholarships and assistantships.
While not considered financial aid, you may be able to find employment on or off campus through DePaul’s Career Center.
You also may want to take advantage of DePaul’s payment plans, which allow you to pay monthly or to defer payments until your employer reimburses you.

How do I apply for financial aid?
If you meet the citizenship requirements, you need to do two things to be considered for financial aid: be admitted to DePaul and submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We must receive the results of your FAFSA before we can begin to consider you for aid. It takes three to five days for us to receive the results of a FAFSA filed electronically and up to 10 weeks to receive results from a FAFSA submitted on paper. We recommend you complete the form online as soon after January 1 as possible and before March 15. Because a wide variety of general and special programs are available, we recommend every student complete the FAFSA.
