International students who wish to receive federal financial aid must meet federally regulated citizenship requirements. (Please review the list of acceptable citizenship statuses below.) If you find that your citizenship status matches one of the acceptable statuses, please carefully read "Applying for Aid."
If your citizenship status is not listed on the list below, you will be ineligible for federal aid. You may, however, be eligible to apply for a Private Educational Loan to assist with your expenses. These loans are based on your income, your credit rating, and your ability to repay the loan. Most Private Loan programs require that non-citizens obtain a co-signer who is a citizen or permanent resident. You may wish to review some
Alternative Financing programs.
Undergraduate students seeking information regarding university scholarships should contact the Office of Admission. Graduate students seeking information regarding university scholarships, internships or assistantships will need to contact the graduate program in which you will study.
You may search for non-university scholarships on the Internet. Some sources may be found in our Links section.
