In DePaul's Italian program, students will study Italian language, literature and culture. Italian influence extends throughout the world in art, music, literature, fashion and cuisine. Having knowledge of Italian culture and the ability to speak Italian will provide students with international job opportunities.

The Italian program offers a concentration in Italian education for students who are interested in teaching. Many Italian majors choose to earn a degree in another area of study, such as art, music, international studies or political science.
DePaul offers a study abroad program at Italiaidea in Rome, allowing students to grow linguistically and experience Italian culture first-hand. During the study abroad term, students will live in an apartment or with an Italian host family.
Chicago is home to vibrant Italian and Italian-American communities, providing students with opportunities to visit the Little Italy neighborhood, dine at Italian restaurants and attend Italian cultural events.
