The Arthur J. Schmitt Academic Center, commonly known as "SAC," houses academic and administrative offices, including the Departments of African and Black Diaspora Studies, History, Latin American and Latino Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Modern Languages, Women’s and Gender Studies and Writing, Rhetoric and Discourse.

Additional academic offices include the Center for Black Diaspora Studies, the Center for Writing-Based Learning and the American Studies program and Critical Ethnic Studies program.

DePaul Central, a one-stop shop for student services, including student registration, financial aid enrollment, and billing is located in SAC.

The Career Center is located in SAC as well, where students work with advisors to find internships or full-time positions, attend career workshops and get help with resumes.

The Office for Academic Advising Support and the Office of Student Employment are also located in SAC, which is home to "The Pit," a social gathering and study area that includes The Bean Caffé.
