AFFECTS ON GRADUATION OUTCOME

Proportion of Cohort with High Performance

In 2011-12, 66 percent of DePaul students met "high performance" benchmarks in their first year—a significant improvement since 2000. While the portion of students earning high performance has been rising over time, continuous improvement in overall graduation rates necessitates more students meeting the high performance benchmarks and fewer students in the low performance group. A positive trend is that the portion of students in the low performance group is declining—only 16 percent of freshmen had low performance in 2011-12. An additional 18 percent of students were categorized as meeting "moderate" performance and progress in their first year; these students met at least one of the criteria for high performance.
