Preliminary analyses were done in 2008-09 with a data set of entering freshmen at DePaul from 2000 to 2006. Then in 2009-10, the database was updated to include most entering freshmen at DePaul from 2000 to 2009—a total of 19,316 students. The variables include virtually every student attribute and characteristic routinely collected in the admission and financial aid process, such as the students' academic profile and preparation, demographic and socioeconomic status and their academic goals and interests. For enrolling students, a longitudinal record was built with every quarter of enrollment history, grade point averages and credit hours earned—along with the cumulative financial aid history.
