STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

The mission of the Student Support Services (SSS) program is to provide enhanced academic and other support services to undergraduate DePaul students who are low-income, first-generation and students with disabilities to guide them through the timely completion of a baccalaureate degree. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and help students make the transition from one level of higher education to the next.

Student Support Services at DePaul University is a U.S. Department of Education TRiO Program supported by $278,997 (84%) federal funds and $53,277 (16%) in university funds for the 2010-2011 academic year.



Eligibility:
The SSS program is available to undergraduate DePaul students who meet the following criteria: In addition, SSS participants must meet at least one of the following three requirements:

Student Support Services has limited space and therefore may not accept all qualified applicants into the program. Applicants will be selected if they meet the above criteria and demonstrate a commitment to be an active participant.



What are the benefits of the Student Support Services program?
Services offered to SSS participants are divided into three dimensions: building knowledge and skills, planning and decision making, and engagement and networking. These dimensions work hand in hand in assessing which areas a particular student should spend the most time and effort.
