Gerald McLaughlin, Ph.D.

Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing

Gerry McLaughlin, associate vice president for Enrollment Management and Marketing, and has been with DePaul since 1999. Gerry directly supports the university's strategic planning process and is engaged in a number of statewide and national research projects. His areas of interest are strategic management of universities and applied statistics.

Prior to DePaul, Gerry was the director of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning Analysis at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University where he also taught occasional courses in the College of Education and College of Business. He has served as president and program chair for both the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and Southern AIR and has been active in SCUP and EDUCAUSE and has consulted for several universities and government agencies.

Gerry is currently on the advisory board for the Consortia for Student Retention Data Exchange, several state committees, and the AIR Research Grant Advisory Committee. He serves as the Editor for two AIR publications, The AIR Professional File and IR Applications. He is also an instructor in several institutes and workshops on the development and use of information in colleges. In 2008, Gerry co-published The Information Mosaic: Strategic Decision Making for Universities and Colleges, a book for the Association of Governing Boards.

Gerry holds a Ph.D. in organizational psychology and an M.S. in industrial management from the University of Tennessee and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
