Student Spotlight: Calandra Jones

I chose to study in the School for New Learning (SNL) because… the classes are tailored according to my schedule. I was able to return to school transferring all of my credits from a college I attended 17 years ago.  And SNL came highly recommended by my friend and SNL alumnus, Robert Montgomery.​​

I decided to attend DePaul because… DePaul has a reputation of educational excellence.​

The learning environment here at DePaul is… inviting, open and diverse.​​

My favorite professors at DePaul are… Betta LoSardo and Greg Gilmore!​​

Here, the diversity of students, faculty and staff… makes the environment more comfortable for me; I feel very welcome at DePaul. And due to the diversity, I feel there’s more to learn from the people and not just what is on the pages of a textbook.​

As a School for New Learning student, building my own customized program has… continued to encourage me to push forward with my degree. I am not concerned with my kids because I have full support from home.  I can take classes on campus or online and even on weekends!​

The best thing about DePaul is… the level of education offered, the fact the professors care about the students and their goals and the interaction with other adult students.​​
