Describe yourself: Comically unique, colorful, musically crazed

Most important thing I've learned so far in my major: Learning and self-realization don't only happen in a classroom.  Internships are pivotal.  Being out in the "real" world and putting knowledge and common sense into practice pays off.  Exposure, exposure, exposure!

Can't live without: My family and my iPod

I'm most proud of: Studying abroad in Paris and running several half marathons

Favorite academic project: In Dr. Luisela Amelia Alvary's Media Cinema Studies course, I analyzed two films that depicted Latinos. Although Latinos are represented differently in each film, some core similarities still shine through in both films. It's interesting to see how much films can add to a culture.

I've always wanted to: Skydive

Best place to eat near campus: Chicago Bagel Authority

Favorite hobby: Running

Best place to study on campus: The SAC pit

Favorite book:The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Favorite quote: "The greater danger for most of us lies in not setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark."
- Michelangelo

Dream job: To work for Latina Magazine or to be a gastronomy innovator

As a DeBlogger, my favorite blog entry was: "The Art of Giving”. I wrote this entry while studying abroad in Paris. I can still remember exactly where I was and how I felt when I wrote this entry. It shows the bond of food and culture. The strong connection I have with my Mexican culture is partly due to my relationship with my mom— my wish is to be able to cook nearly half as well as she. I’m inspired by all of the traditional and spontaneous dishes that come out of her kitchen!

I get ideas for my blog entries from: My life as a student. I simply put myself in the audience’s shoes and ask myself, “Would I read this?” I also tend to expand on the smallest event that happened to me and simply go from there.

Being a Communication student at DePaul has allowed me to: Have Chicago as my playground where I can simply hop on the “L” and not miss a beat of this city’s tempo. I keep my eyes and ears open because there is always a story willing to be told. People like to talk, I try my best to listen!
