Describe yourself:
Active, creative, fun
Biggest goal in life:
Winning a job in an orchestra
Can't live without:
DePaul’s fitness center, The Ray, is a
great facility that has so much to offer students, like work-out classes and
intramural sports. It’s also just a fun place to hang out with friends and play
ping-pong!
Favorite place near DePaul:
The top
of the Children’s Memorial Hospital parking garage. It has undoubtedly the best
view of the Chicago skyline.
Love going to school in Chicago because:
I love
food, and there are few better places than Chicago to enjoy food.
I've always wanted to:
Go to a professional
sporting event in Chicago. I’ve
never been to a Bulls, Bears, Blackhawks or Fire game. One of these days, I’ll go.
Best place to eat on campus:
The Ray Meyer Fitness Center
Thin crust or deep dish?
Deep dish
at Pequod’s Pizza. If you’ve never been, drop what you’re doing and go straight
there.
Favorite quote:
“To be good is noble; but to show others how to be good is nobler and no trouble.”
– Mark Twain
Dream job:
Playing
horn in a top tier orchestra
DePaul University’s School of Music appealed to me as a student and as a musician because:
The
School of Music has a world-class faculty from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra,
Lyric Opera, and other professional institutions in the city. Students can reap the benefits of the
huge amount of experience and excellence the faculty brings to DePaul.
Being a music major at DePaul, in the heart of Chicago, means:
I never have to travel far to see a fantastic musical production. Chicago has an excellent music scene in close proximity to the school.
Also, the music community in Chicago is a very tight-knit group, and the urban placement of DePaul allows for many connections and musical friendships to blossom.
After graduation, I plan to:
Attend
graduate school and continue my study of the horn. I’m looking forward to entering the professional world of
horn playing.
