Describe yourself: Goofy, hard-working, passionate

Biggest goal in life: To live in as many different parts of the world as I can

Can't live without: That’s a toss-up between music and good food. My mother is a wonderful chef.

Love going to school in Chicago because: There is always something going on musically and the opportunities to perform are plentiful.

I've always wanted to: Fly

Best place to study on campus: When studying for non-music courses, I would say the library. Otherwise, I like to study in my teacher’s studio.

Thin crust or deep dish? My French self will have to say thin crust. Deep dish is over the top for me. As for a good restaurant…I have yet to find my perfect match.

Favorite books: The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.

Favorite quote: “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.”
– Vince Lombardi

Dream job: To sing internationally as an opera singer

DePaul University’s School of Music appealed to me as a student and as a musician because: The faculty is incredible, the staff is so helpful and friendly, the location is great and the second I walked on campus I just knew I wanted to study here.

Being a music major at DePaul, in the heart of Chicago, means: Cheap (or free!) tickets to the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and other venues. Chicago has a huge music scene with a good possibility for gigs, a lot of good musicians to listen to and to study from, and wonderful music festivals and clubs.

I chose Voice Performance as my major because: I have loved singing my whole life. It’s the one passion I have never given up pursuing. There is nothing like the high one gets after a performance, and the voice is such an interesting instrument. After I graduate I fully intend to pursue my vocal studies, as competitive of a field as it is, as I would like to make a career out of it.
