Describe yourself:
Genuine, optimistic, enthusiastic
Most important thing you’ve learned so far in your major:
Successful and effective teaching is not easy. Developing lesson plans that will engage students requires a lot of thought and creativity.
I’m most proud of:
My decision to transfer to DePaul. DePaul’s urban location and social awareness were exactly what I was looking for in a university. My experience has exceeded all of my expectations.
Favorite places at DePaul:
The Office of Academic Enhancement (OAE) and the Dean of Students Office in the Student Center. These offices are great resources.
Love going to school in Chicago because:
It's literally our classroom! As part of my curriculum, I have gone on architecture tours, enjoyed the opera and visited many different museums. And since I’m an education major, I observe teachers and students in Chicago Public School classrooms. These experiences have encouraged me to explore the city even further.
Favorite hobbies:
Knitting and photography
Favorite book:
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. It was the first book that made me cry.
Best kept secret about DePaul:
The track on the top floor of the Ray Meyer Fitness Center. It's surrounded by glass windows, with great views of the Chicago skyline to distract me while I’m running.
