This is my first year on the DePaul Dance Team:
But it's already become a huge part of my life. I have become very close friends with the girls on the team and I was lucky enough to get to help choreograph for the team this year as well.
Dance is a part of my life because:
It’s been a hobby of mine since I was a little girl. I got started like most little girls do when I was about three. My mom put me in tap and ballet, and then I started competing in jazz when I was fourteen. I love dance because there is so much you can do with it. It's almost impossible to get sick of it because it's constantly changing. I also love the fact that it can be an individual or a team sport.
The best part of being on the DePaul Dance Team is:
The camaraderie. After being so close with my high school dance team I wasn't sure if I would form those same relationships on another team. But, I feel closer to the girls on the team than I ever imagined I would. I have become much more connected to the DePaul community in general and I think that all students should get the chance to experience that.
I chose to major in Journalism because:
It's what I wanted to study upon entering college. I have always loved writing as well as speaking in front of an audience, and this major allows me to combine those two things. After I graduate, I plan on pursuing a career as a television anchor/reporter.
