Going to school at DePaul means going to school in Chicago, one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in the U.S. Even though Chicago is the country's third-largest city, we have more than 60 ethnic communities, giving us a strong sense of neighborhood. Along with our diverse population comes a wide range of great restaurants and ethnic festivals. We have renowned museums, world-class theatre, music and sports. During the spring and summer, the city comes alive with fairs, concerts, tours and outdoor fun in our many parks and on the lakefront.
There are countless things to do on campus when you're not in class. You might want to host a show on the student radio station. Captain your fraternity's intramural floor hockey team. Attend a lecture by a famous guest speaker, or collect clothing for the homeless. Or maybe you'll want to cheer on the Blue Demons in a Big East Conference game.
The DePaul Activities Board (DAB), is the premiere event-organizing body of the university. Throughout the school year, members of DAB provide students with a wide variety of events, ranging from Homecoming and FEST (spring outdoor concert and festival), to speakers, music, movies, comedy shows, hypnotists, and much more.
DePaul has been recognized as one of the country's best universities for fostering social responsibility and public service. Student organizations, the Egan Urban Center and the Office of Community-based Service Learning identify mutually beneficial opportunities for students to develop relevant knowledge by working hands-on with community partners on a variety of projects.
No matter where you are (Lincoln Park or Loop campus), you'll have the benefit of the latest technology, including:
DePaul's Lincoln Park campus has been ranked as one of the most beautiful urban campuses in the nation. It has 25 academic and student buildings and 23 residence buildings on 40 acres. Restaurants, theatres, live music, movie complexes, Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo and the lakefront are just a short walk away.
