I chose my major because... I love to teach. It is my passion and soon, it will be my life. Teaching allows me to be around kids so I can be a kid myself!
My favorite thing to do on campus is... to be at work and see my friends in all the organizations and clubs I am in and to go to the Ray to get a good workout.
I decided to attend DePaul because... it was close to Wrigley Field and I knew I would get a quality education here. Plus, living in the city is an absolutely unforgettable experience.
When I have free time, I like to... relax with friends, or go out and have a good time!
My favorite thing to do off campus is.... travel to different tournaments for Frisbee and visit other fraternity houses on other campuses. Also, going out with friends to the different establishments around the area always makes for an entertaining night.
One thing I didn’t know about DePaul before coming was... that it is a very pedestrian-friendly school. Even though a large portion of the school are commuters with cars, there are still a fair amount of students that are just roaming around the campus on bikes, roller blades, skateboards or whatever else they can find to get them around.
The greatest thing about going to school in Chicago is... that there is everything you could possibly want here. So many cultures in such a small space; plus, with such a small amount of space around and a lack of street parking, it encourages people to take public transportation and ride bikes.
DePaul’s School of Education is unique compared to other schools I considered attending because... it is a very personal program. I feel that it is very easy to get to know the people in the School of Education because it is not unbelievably large.
I choose to follow a degree in Education because... it is something that I truly do love. I enjoy teaching kids and have fun when I do it. DePaul has helped me by offering the means to be a good teacher down the road through some good faculty and meaningful instruction.
My greatest success as a student here has been... all of the friends and connections I have made over the years. Without their help and support I would have never gotten this far in life and would never become the person I hope to be.
After graduation, I plan to... get right into the swing of things finding a job in education and having my very own classroom. I really can’t wait to start my life after college!
The one thing I’d like to say to students considering DePaul... living in the city is a great opportunity and one of the best experiences of my life.
