Area of Study:
Law

I chose to study law because... it's an ideal career. As a lawyer, you can conduct research, write technical documents or scholarly articles, engage in oral argument and help people in need.

I decided to attend DePaul College of Law because... the outstanding faculty, the collegial atmosphere and the opportunities for students. DePaul also features excellent clinics and nationally renowned student-run journals.

The law class I have most enjoyed... was judicial and scholarly writing. Students learn how to write majority and dissenting opinions, as well as professional journal articles.

When I have free time, I like to... watch movies, play chess or play guitar. I've met a lot of great friends at DePaul, and we often hang out outside of school.

One thing I didn't know about DePaul before coming was... that this school has produced more Illinois judges than any other.

For DePaul College of Law students, Chicago is... an ideal learning environment. Internships are readily available, and there are many networking opportunities.

DePaul's College of Law is different from other law schools because... of its students. Each year, the college recruits a wide variety of applicants. The instructors at DePaul's College of Law are wonderful. Many of them are at the top of their field. Thus, students not only learn legal basics, but also the cutting-edge debates in each field.

My greatest success has been... being elected editor-in-chief of the "DePaul Law Review." As editor-in-chief, I lead a team of fourteen editors and thirty-two staff members in the completion of four issues. It has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my lifetime.

After graduation, I plan to... work in either tort litigation or criminal appeals. I am going to stay in Chicago.

The one thing I'd like to say to students considering DePaul College of Law... is that you should sit in on a class. The best way to experience our school is by observing the way our professors and students interact.
