I chose my major because... I have a passion for both technology and business and the merger of the disciplines together. My interest in technology stems from the fact that I come from a family of computer consultants, along with my own personal fascination with technological advancements. Business on the other hand is a subject that has always intrigued me and a path I have always wanted to pursue in my professional career.
My favorite thing to do on campus is… to play pool with friends in the student lounge after a heavy lunch, followed by a walk around campus.
When I have free time, I like to… work out at the gym (The Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreational Center) because of the friendly atmosphere that it offers.
One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to DePaul is… that I work well under pressure. Ideally, I make every effort to complete assignments ahead of schedule. In the curricula that DePaul offers, students are really challenged and pushed to the limits for success. This can create an atmosphere of pressure, but it has also made me realize that I work well with or without pressure.
If I were guaranteed success, I would… continue to work hard towards that success so that I would achieve it sooner rather than later. I would be more confident in my future and less concerned about making the correct career decisions.
After graduation, I plan to… work for a minimum of two years to gain some work experience in my chosen field, after which I’ll move on to pursue an MBA and possibly a master’s in finance. Investment banking has always been a goal, however I am open to any path that my education leads me towards.
The one DePaul experience that I will always remember is … a close friend coming to visit me at campus. After a long, restless night of talks at my apartment, we walked to the quad at 3 a.m. in the morning — for absolutely no reason whatsoever. We then fell asleep sitting on one of the park benches and woke up just in time to see the sky lit orange with a Chicago morning sunrise.
