A limited number of funding opportunities are available for qualified CDM graduate students. Graduate assistantships are tuition and/or monetary awards based on academic merit, experience in the field, and recommendations. An assistantship typically requires the recipient to perform some service for CDM such as tutoring, grading or lab support. CDM awards two kinds of assistantships: 

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships are intended for any degree-seeking (PhD, MS, MA and MFA) graduate student in CDM.

Ph.D. Stipends

Intended for full-time students pursuing a PhD at CDM.  

​Double Demon Scholarship

Alumni from any of DePaul’s colleges who are admitted into a graduate degree program or a select certificate program* in the College of Communication, the College of Computing and Media, the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Science and Health, the School for New Learning or the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business will automatically qualify for the Double Demon Scholarship.

This scholarship covers 25 percent of the tuition for a master’s degree or a select certificate program*. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible. No scholarship application is required; all alumni admitted to these programs beginning with the winter quarter of 2014 or thereafter qualify. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with other DePaul scholarships, waivers or awards.

DePaul University employees are eligible for other employee tuition benefits through the university, and therefore are not eligible for the Double Demon Scholarship.
