Students in the Certificate in Mathematics for Community College Teaching ('Certificate') program must
follow the probation and dismissal guidelines found in the Program
Graduate Academic Student Handbook for Master of Science in Mathematics for Teaching (MSMT).
Certificate seekers can only be recent graduates of DePaul University's
Master of Arts in Mathematics Education (MAMEd) program. The purpose of the Certificate is to fortify the MAMEd degree for students who wish to teach at the community college level.
The Certificate is comprised of six courses at 20 credit hours
those of which are part of DePaul's Master of Science in Mathematics
Teaching (MSMT) degree but which are not part of the MAMEd degree.
Students are restricted from earning both the Certificate and the MSMT.Students
in the Certificate program must apply for degree conferral via Campus Connection
in advance of their final quarter in the program in order to have their
coursework audited for the awarding of their certificate.
