Research Colloquium in
English & Writing

Sigma Tau Delta is hosting the first
annual Research Colloquium in English & Writing,
a student conference. Eight students, graduates and
undergraduates, will present the work they have undertaken
during the past school year, research from the fields
of language, literature, and rhetoric and composition.

Career Fair
co-sponsored by the English Graduate Student Association
On Friday, May 18, the English Graduate
Student Association and Sigma Tau Delta (the English
Honors Society), in conjunction with the Career Center,
are hosting the "Careers in English/Writing Fair."
The purpose of this fair is to bring DePaul alumni,
professionals, and graduate/undergraduate DePaul students
together to discuss career possibilities for English,
Writing, Communications, and New Media Studies majors

Students Katie Wozniak (MAW 07) and Melanie
Yergeau (MAW 07) presented papers at the 2007 International
Convention in Pittsburgh. Both participated in a panel
on Pedagogy: The Changing Classroom. Katie presented
"Confluence and Feminism in the Teaching of Writing,"
and Melanie read from her paper, "Who's Who in
the Discourse of First-Year Writing: Ideology and Its
Arbiters." Melanie also presented a personal essay,
"The Constellation Urine," on a creative nonfiction
panel.
