- The National Security Agency and STARTALK 2011 awarded grants totaling $200,000 to fund two of DePaul’s Chinese language programs.
- DePaul’s Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development, housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Science’s School of Public Service, has produced a number of studies that document a dramatic reversal of the long-declining intercity bus industry and the adverse impact of taxation on car sharing programs.

- The Princeton Review ranked DePaul 15th for "race/class interaction," and 11th for our locale in a "great college town." (2011)
- Diverse Issues in Higher Education noted DePaul in 40 separate undergraduate and graduate categories, including rankings amongst the top 10 colleges for awarding bachelor's degrees to minorities, ranking in the top five institutions for awarding master's degree to students of color, and ranking in the top 20 institutions with psychology programs awarding doctorate degrees to African-American students.
