Be an agent of change: inspire, advocate, transform

Within DePaul’s master’s in bilingual-bicultural education program (MA/MEd), you’ll be a part of a community that believes language can be a unifying and empowering force for good in the world. We prepare you to become not only a highly-skilled, transformative educator, but also to be a leader in language education. You will learn how to anticipate and adapt your teaching, leadership, and advocacy for students in unique, ever-changing circumstances. You’ll understand how to get access to resources, negotiate for policy changes, and ensure you are part of leadership conversations.

Our faculty are internationally recognized and diverse in the languages they speak and the experiences they bring to the classroom. And unlike many other programs, our students are actively engaged in hands-on practical approaches and research, working with a wide range of students across Chicago. Discover how language acts as a catalyst for positive societal change, and join us in building educational bridges, connecting educators, students, and communities.

Multicultural students in a multicultural city

Our location in the heart of Chicago means you’ll work with multilingual students and families from all over the world. These multicultural communities of many languages will need the support and guidance of a dedicated educator and leader like you.
