BIO

As DePaul University’s Director of technology transfer, Professor Anthony G. Volini works with faculty across the university’s colleges to develop intellectual property protection and licensing strategies, including for innovations arising from research supported by state and federal grants.

Professor Volini is a member of DePaul’s Center for Intellectual Property Law & Information Technology (CIPLIT®). In addition to teaching, he helps shape the College of Law’s technology and intellectual property curriculum and collaborates with DePaul’s College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) to advance interdisciplinary technology education for law students. He also advises students on interviewing, networking, and résumé writing and assists in coordinating CIPLIT employment opportunities.

Before joining DePaul, Professor Volini practiced at a Chicago intellectual property law firm, where he focused on patent prosecution and infringement analysis involving technologies such as mechanical and extrusion systems, plastics, household products, surgical navigation equipment, and insecticides. He is also a named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 7,308,992, assigned to S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., for aerosol-actuation technology.
