Biography

Brian Phelan is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Economics Department. He is also a Driehaus Faculty Fellow in the Driehaus College of Business and a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He has been at DePaul since 2012.

Phelan's research and teaching interests include labor economics, public economics, and econometrics. He is currently working on research projects related to the labor market effects of high-skill immigration, the impacts of occupational licensing rules on the healthcare labor market, and the spillover effects of transfer programs into housing markets.

Phelan currently teaches Business Analytics, Principles of Microeconomics, and Introductory Econometrics in the undergraduate program and Labor Economics in the MS-EQA program.
