BIO

Carl Thomas is a consultant-turned-educator who is passionate about helping people unlock their potential, whether coaching executives through sourcing decisions or guiding students through complex analytics. He focuses on building learning experiences that are practical, inclusive, and empowering, and believes the most meaningful teaching happens where theory meets practice.

Carl is a full-time Instructor in the Department of Marketing at DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business, teaching marketing and marketing research, including MKT 301, MKT 305, and MKT 525. Prior to joining the faculty full-time, he was a consultant at AArete, where he worked on strategic sourcing and profitability improvement for healthcare, banking, and manufacturing clients. Earlier in his career, he founded Thomas Consulting, an independent marketing consultancy advising small businesses on market research, pricing strategy, experiential marketing, and go-to-market planning. He has also held roles in sales and marketing analytics, building dashboards and predictive models to improve client retention, giving him a broad, practitioner's view of marketing across industries that he brings directly into the classroom.

Carl holds an M.S. in Business Analytics and a B.S. in Marketing & Management, Leadership, and Innovation, both from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, where he graduated with Second Honors and was a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection as Varsity Football Captain.
