BIO

Courtney spent more than fifteen years as a TV News Anchor/Reporter. She recently moved back home to Chicago after working as a reporter and anchor at FOX19 Now in Cincinnati for almost six years. During her time in Cincinnati, Courtney received two Regional Emmy nominations and won several other awards for her reporting, including awards from the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists and the Cleveland Press Club.

Although known for her crime reporting, Courtney started her career as a sports anchor/reporter. She previously worked at WACH FOX in Columbia, South Carolina, where she covered the Clemson Tigers 2016 National Championship run and South Carolina Women's Basketball's National Title win at the Final Four in Dallas in 2017.

Courtney moved over into news while in South Carolina after she was promoted to Weekend News anchor. She's covered murder trials, dozens of cold cases, several hurricanes, as well as major sporting events and leagues.

Courtney graduated from DePaul's College of Communication in 2011. Her first TV sports job was at WFFT Local Fox in Fort Wayne shortly after she graduated. She also worked for WITI FOX6 in Milwaukee and did some freelance work for the Big Ten Network.

After just one class as an Adjunct Professor, Courtney was nominated for the College of Communication's 2026 QIC Teaching Excellence Award in the Adjunct Professor category.

Courtney taught Topics in Sports Communication in the 2026 Winter Quarter and now teaches Digital Media Skills.
