Biography
Dave Franckowiak believes that our legacy is shaped by the relationships we build and the impact we have on other people's lives. That belief has guided his career and the way he shows up as a mentor, teacher, advisor, colleague, and friend.
Franckowiak teaches accounting and business courses, including BUS 101: Introduction to Driehaus: Business Fundamentals and the Entrepreneurial Mindset. Teaching gives him the opportunity to help students understand how business and financial information connect to opportunity, growth, and sound decision-making. Just as important, he mentors students on career development, relationship building, and the value of creating a meaningful professional network.
Franckowiak serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Ledger & Quill, the donor society of the School of Accountancy & MIS at DePaul University. Professionally, he is a strategic CFO advisor to entrepreneurs and founder-led companies. often at the stage where financial management becomes too complex for a bookkeeper but doesn’t yet justify a full-time CFO. He brings a hands-on approach that blends financial rigor with practical business insight.
Franckowiak began his career in audit at PricewaterhouseCoopers and later served in senior finance roles including Controller, Vice President of Finance, and CFO within privately held and private-equity-backed companies. Those experiences shaped his practical, hands-on approach to advising leaders.
