Ed currently is a senior attorney for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Homeland Security and advises on customs and international trade enforcement matters. His practice in the CBP Office of Associate Chief Counsel Chicago covers customs issues, such as penalty cases, trade remedies, classification, valuation and merchandise entry issues, in addition to agriculture import operations. He supports CBP employees in their nationwide and international government compliance and trade enforcement effort, and he has represented the agency in trade cases in the Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also has participated in worldwide government legal matters and conferences.
Prior to joining the federal government, Ed worked at large law firm in Washington, D.C. as a law clerk in the aviation and litigation practice groups. During college, he worked for many years in the airline industry in Washington, D.C. He has been admitted to the State of Illinois and Washington, D.C. bars. In his free time, he competes in marathons and triathlons.
