BIO

Gregory (Greg) S. Bailey is a seasoned litigator with over 25 years of experience representing clients in federal and state courts around the country, as well as in arbitrations, mediations and investigations. As a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom, he led large, multi-disciplinary teams in developing and implementing legal strategies to achieve positive outcomes for clients through all phases of litigation.

Bailey’s extensive litigation experience includes handling class actions, mass actions, multi-jurisdictional litigation and other complex matters, and he covers a wide range of subject matters including securities and accounting fraud, regulatory enforcement, products liability and mass tort, consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices, constitutional, intellectual property, defamation, discrimination, habeas corpus, and various contract and other commercial matters. 

Mr. Bailey has been involved in a number of significant legal matters, including:

  • Representing shareholders of a publicly traded insurance company in a class action against the U.S. Government seeking over $40 billion

  • Representing the former CEO of a publicly traded insurance company in a series of overlapping civil enforcement actions, criminal investigations, private class actions, and derivative actions alleging securities and accounting fraud and breach of fiduciary duty

  • Representing a fertilizer manufacturer in a series of cases seeking millions of dollars in damages arising from an explosion at a fertilizer distributor resulting in numerous wrongful death, personal injury and property damage claims

  • Representing clients in a series of seminal class actions that were ultimately decided in the Illinois Supreme Court
