BIO

Talia brings her long-term commitment to social and racial justice to her role at the DePaul Labor Education Center, where she combines her passion for economic justice with her background in gender justice. As a current M.A. student in Women’s and Gender Studies at DePaul University, her academic and advocacy work underscores the importance of inclusive education in K–12 schools, emphasizing curricula that reflect and affirm the students and families they serve.

Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Talia has been deeply inspired by the racial, social, and economic inequalities she has observed. She is dedicated to creating change through action, education, and community organizing. In addition to her work with the LEC, she serves as an Ambassador for the Human Rights Campaign’s Welcoming Schools program, supporting educators with tools to create classrooms that affirm all students and are free from gender and racial bias.

Outside of her studies and advocacy, Talia enjoys traveling whenever she has free time, and exploring Chicago as a new resident—whether by discovering local neighborhoods, engaging in community activism, or spending time with her family.
