Melissa Ockerman

Melissa Ockerman’s research agenda focuses on the efficacy of school counselor preparation, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and evidenced-based school counseling strategies. She is a frequent presenter at local, state, and national conferences. In 2012 and 2018, she was named the Illinois School Counselor Educator of the Year. She served eight years on the Board of Directors for Illinois Safe Schools Alliance and currently serves on the Advisory Council for the Evidence-Based Practice in School Counseling conference. She is the co-author of the text, 101 Solutions for School Counselors and Leaders in Challenging Times and The ABC’s of SEL: An Adaptive, Balanced and Collaborative Approach to School Counseling.
