Philippe Weiss

Professor Philippe Weiss has developed and presented interactive business, law and compliance courses at such institutions as Northwestern, DePaul and Loyola, and designed interactive communications simulations for the University of Michigan. Weiss also has been invited to guest lecture on compliance communication best practices at a number of graduate schools, including at Boston University’s School of Law.
Weiss serves as president of Seyfarth at Work and has played a central role in developing compliance communication methods deployed at market-leading Fortune 500 companies. Specifically, he pioneered Seyfarth at Work's practical messaging, which emphasizes everyday language and avoids unnecessary "legalese." EEOC and DOJ-designated monitors have found these methods, as embodied in both Seyfarth at Work consulting and training, to be "wholly creative and successful." Weiss also worked on behalf of clients in the context of complex litigation settlement processes and assisted governmental entities and NGOs to craft messaging addressing legally and politically contentious challenges. Legislative task forces have relied upon Weiss for testimony on improving workplace culture and developing related legislation.
In his career as an attorney, Weiss has represented both plaintiff and defense-side clients, as well as agencies and high-profile individuals, and appeared before federal and state courts. Beyond his corporate and client work, media outlets regularly call upon him to simply explain compliance and business news and trends affecting individuals and companies. He has been quoted in/by The New York Times, Washington Post, Forbes, The Guardian, Politico, Fortune, USA Today, Time.com, CNBC.com, The Los Angeles Times, Fast Company, ABC Radio, NBC affiliates, ABC TV Australia, WGN TV and WGN Radio, where he appears as a bi-weekly guest for conversations spanning business and compliance trends.
