Biography
Dr. Quoc H. Nguyen is currently an Associate Professor of Finance at DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business and Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining DePaul, he served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Nguyen holds a B.Math in Computational Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Nguyen's research focuses on asset pricing and behavioral finance, with particular emphasis on textual analysis, ESG investing, and the application of technology such as Machine Learning and AI to financial markets. His work on investor attention and corporate disclosure practices has been recognized with numerous awards and has been widely implemented in industry settings. His academic research has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Finance, Management Science, the Review of Finance, and has received awards including the Q-Group Jack Treynor Prize, First Prize at the CQA Finance Competition, the Hillcrest Behavioral Finance Competition award, the Fordham University–PVH Corp. Global Thought Leadership Grant, and the John L. Weinberg/IRRCi Research Paper Award. His research has been presented at leading conferences, including the AFA, WFA, NBER Summer Institute, SFS Finance Cavalcade, and European Finance Association, and has been featured in the Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg.
