Scholarship​

Rachel Boyle is a public historian with more than a decade of professional experience blending critical historical practice and meaningful community engagement. After earning her PhD in United States and Public History from Loyola University Chicago, Boyle served as the Mellon Major Projects Postdoctoral Fellow at the Newberry Library where she coordinated an institution-wide initiative asking, “What is the Midwest?" Now, as co-founder of Omnia History, she consults with cultural organizations on special projects ranging from writing book-length histories for the National Park Service to collaborating on digital humanities projects with local historical societies. Boyle also leads undergraduate courses, teacher programs, and adult education seminars on topics including Chicago and urban history, gender and labor history, and public history.​
