Stefanie Z. Demetriades

​​​​​Stefanie Demetriades is an Assistant Professor in the College of Communication, where she teaches courses on technology and society, misinformation and polarization, intercultural dialogue, and health communication. Her research examines how people process and rsepond to challenging or uncomfortable information in health, science, and political contexts. Her scholarship has appeared in journals including the Journal of Communication, Health Communication, and Human Communication Research, among others. She presents regularly at national and international academic conferences and was recently selected for a Fulbright US-UK Global Challenges Teaching Award. She holds a Master's degree in Public Diplomacy and a PhD in Communication from the University of Southern California.
