BIO
William Chyr is an independent game developer and artist based in Chicago. His practice bridges fine art and game design, creating richly interactive worlds grounded in mathematics, architecture, and spatial exploration. After studying physics at the University of Chicago, Chyr began his career creating large-scale installations before transitioning into digital media. His first game, Manifold Garden (2019), earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Debut Game and was a finalist for the 2020 Beazley Designs of the Year. His most recent project, Hotel Infinity (2025), won the D.I.C.E. Award for Immersive Reality Technical Achievement. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, SFMOMA, and the ZKM Center for Art and Media.
