Yujia Wang

I am a tenure-track assistant professor in the School of Computing at DePaul University. I received my Ph.D. from the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. Prior to that, I earned an M.S. in Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Statistics from Sichuan University in China.

My research aims to lay the foundations for the next generation of collaborative intelligence systems. I seek to develop optimization principles and learning methods that enable intelligent systems to collaborate efficiently, reliably, and securely.

My current research focuses on the theory and methodology of collaborative and privacy-preserving machine learning and optimization, with particular interests in:

• Generative approaches to federated and collaborative learning
• Efficient and scalable federated learning over heterogeneous networks
• Optimization methods for generative AI
