This December, DePaul will open the DePaul University Bookstore, its new campus stores on the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses. Follett Higher Education, the largest campus retailer in North America, will operate both stores and the university’s online bookstore. Our community can look forward to refreshed bookstore spaces and an expanded selection of Blue Demon merchandise.
Students will benefit from affordable course material options, including textbook rentals, price matching and year-round used book buyback. Follett will also partner with DePaul to expand open educational resources, helping faculty identify free or low-cost course materials for students.
Looking ahead, Follett plans to redesign both bookstores with a fresh, contemporary look that celebrates DePaul's spirit. The stores will also feature a broader and more distinctive selection of DePaul apparel and gifts, including made-to-order designs.
To support a smooth transition, both bookstores will close Nov. 25, 2026, and reopen Dec. 14, 2026, during the break between Fall and Winter Quarters. The Loop café will also close Nov. 25 and reopen with a new coffee concept in January 2027.
DePaul thanks Barnes & Noble and the bookstore team for their many years of service to the university community.
The DePaul University Bookstore will be a destination for students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans to show their Blue Demon pride. For more information, find answers to common questions on this FAQ page.
