CHICAGO —  Five​ leaders from fields ranging from public health to finance to philanthropic engagement joined DePaul University’s Board of Trustees during the 2021-22 academic year. The board elected Michael de Anda, principal for de Anda Capital LLC; Jennifer Fortner, retired managing director for Goldman Sachs & Co.; Aristotle Halikias, chairman of the board and CEO for Republic Bancorp Co.; Stephanie Bryan Kangas, director of philanthropy for NeuroBalance Center; and Haydee Olinger, senior advisor for BarkerGilmore LLC.

Board Chair Gerald Beeson welcomed the new trustees who joined the board over the course of the 2021-22 academic year.

“We are pleased to add these five strong leaders to DePaul’s Board of Trustees. Their wide range of experiences and diverse perspectives will bring a positive impact to our university community,” Beeson says. “I look forward to their contributions to the collective work of our Board of Trustees, as we uphold DePaul’s mission to deliver an exceptional education to a diverse group of learners.”

DePaul’s Board of Trustees is responsible for shaping the strategies that best promote the fulfillment of the university’s mission and values.

Michael de Anda
Michael de Anda is the founder of the San Francisco based investment firm de Anda Capital LLC, which focuses on partnerships with management in early-stage investments and middle-market acquisitions. Michael began his career in accounting, earning his CPA and working at McGladrey, now known as RSM. He has a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from DePaul University and later earned an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

Jenny Fortner

Jenny Fortner is the recently retired director of impact and engagement for the Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund. In this role, she helped advisors and clients develop their charitable efforts and amplify their impact in the community.  During her 24 years at Goldman Sachs, Jenny worked as a financial advisor and co-founded both the Goldman Sachs Chicago Women’s Network and the Goldman Sachs Chicago Diversity Network. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Chicago, where she was inducted into their Athletics Hall of Fame for competing on the women’s varsity basketball team.  She is a proud past Doug Bruno basketball camper and coach, and currently, coaches a girl’s basketball team in the South Suburbs. Jenny also has a passion for the Special Olympics and was connected to DePaul through its service to the organization during the Special Olympics 50th Anniversary in Chicago, which she co-chaired.

Aristotle Halikias

Aristotle Halikias is chairman of the board and CEO of Republic Bancorp, the financial holding company for Republic Bank & Trust Company and Republic Bank. He also is the president and chief executive officer for Intercontinental International Real Estate Investment Company. He has a bachelor’s degree from DePaul’s Driehaus College of Business.

Stephanie Bryan Kangas

Stephanie Bryan Kangas is the director of philanthropy and development at the NeuroBalance Center in Barrington, IL. As a nonprofit public charity, the NeuroBalance Center provides adaptive fitness, rehabilitation and health and wellness services for those living with chronic, degenerative conditions that threaten independence. She has a master’s degree in public health from Benedictine University and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from DePaul University.

Haydee Olinger

Haydee Olinger is a senior advisor with BarkerGilmore, an executive search firm based in New York. Before joining BarkerGilmore, she spent more than three decades at McDonald’s Corporation, most recently as global chief compliance officer. She has a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University. She also has a master’s degree in leadership and business ethics from Duquesne University.
