Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 Update – The City of Chicago completed the repair, and buildings are open as usual today. The Daley Building (14 E. Jackson / 247 S. State) is open and operating as scheduled. The washrooms in the O’Malley Building are also open.

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026 – Due to an emergency water main shutdown, the Daley Building (14 E. Jackson / 247 S. State) will close at 4:45 p.m. today and all occupants must vacate the building by that time. Classes scheduled in this building after 4:45 should be moved online or to asynchronous learning if possible. Check with your instructor for more details. 

Additionally, washrooms will be closed in the O’Malley Building (23 E. Jackson), but the building will remain open. Occupants can use Lewis Building or DePaul Center washrooms during water shutoff.

All other Loop buildings remain open: The CDM and Lewis buildings, the DePaul Center, and Reskin Theatre are not affected and will remain open with classes operating as scheduled.

We anticipate the City of Chicago will complete the repair quickly and that buildings will open as usual tomorrow. Updates will be posted here as available.
