On September 1st, SCPS instructor and Associate Director of Programs Patrizia Lombardi Acerra was recognized by the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre as one of its 33rd edition Honorees for her work with the International Voice Project.

Pat is the founder and Executive Director of the International Voices Project. Each year, IVP partners with consulates, cultural institutions, universities, and theatre companies from the Chicagoland area and throughout the US to hold a festival of plays in translation at Institute Cervantes in Chicago. These yearly Chicagoland festivals have included 10 Egyptian plays or productions throughout IVP’s 17-year history.

Acerra travelled to Cairo at the end of August to accept this honor, and to take part in the festival as one of their esteemed jury members.
