Vincentian Service Day at the YMCA

On Saturday, May 2nd SCPS students, staff, faculty, and Dean Tatum Thomas participated in DePaul's Annual Vincentian Service Day.

This year, the group from SCPS was dispatched to the Kelly Hall YMCA, located in Chicago's West Humboldt Park neighborhood, where they spent the morning in the sun sprucing up the YMCA's playlot garden. Once finished, the group returned to the main facilities to learn about the YMCA's various community-building programs and activities.

Vincentian Service Day is an annual tradition that started in the 1998-1999 school year to commemorate during DePaul's Centennial celebration. Each year, hundreds of students, staff, and faculty gather for a day of volunteering at over 50+ partner organizations across the Greater Chicago area and in cities around the country.
