Spotlight is The Theatre School’s quarterly magazine showcasing the people, productions, and creative work that define our community. Each issue highlights the artistry and accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as the events that shape life at TTS.

The Summer 2026 edition reflects a season of transition, celebration, and “Childlike Wonder” across The Theatre School, featuring:

• A new season announcement, unveiling the 2026–2027 theme, A Season of Childlike Wonder, and the productions that invite audiences to rediscover curiosity, joy, and imagination.
• Immersion Week: Incoming students explored the city’s rich cultural landscape—from riverwalk tours to historic landmarks—while beginning to build community at TTS.
• Creative Root youth programming: Coverage of our work with young artists and recent media features highlighting the impact of these programs in Chicago.
• Faculty and staff milestones: New appointments, recognitions, and accomplishments in professional theatre, scholarship, and community-engaged work.
• Student summer experiences: from work at major theatre festivals to hands-on creative opportunities that connect classroom learning with the industry.
• TTS in writing showcasing recent publications, interviews, and essays by Theatre School faculty and alumni contributing to national conversations about theatre and performance.
• Alumni achievements, celebrating graduates making their mark on stages, in writers’ rooms, at festivals, and in leadership roles across the industry.
