In 2019, Professor Emerita (SNL) and SCPS adjunct faculty member Catherine Marienau and MAAPS alumna Gail Zelitzky founded Women Over 70–Aging Reimagined. They also cohost a weekly podcast of the same name, featuring interviews with women ages 70-110.
“Through our nearly 400 guests, we've learned about women's experiences of aging and how they remain connected, courageous, creative, curious, impactful, and compassionate in their later decades,” said Marienau.
Their podcast recently received the 2025 ASTRA Podcast Spotlight Award from the Creative Hollywood Alliance.
On July 31st, 2026, the duo also released a book, Women Over 70: Reimagining Aging, Place, and Possibilities, that further amplifies the voices of over 100 women. Their stories challenge ageist narratives, celebrate the endless possibilities that come with age, and hope to serve as role models or younger generations.
